I probably shouldn't give this sort of information away to everyone in case someone is planning some revolutionary tactics, but this course is almost certainly a road bike only one. Each lap is eight miles long, but the dirt sections make up less than 2 miles total, plus they are split across the course making bike changes not worthwhile as you'd have to do it four times per lap.

Also, wasn't it originally three laps?
Sorry, yes THREE laps.

I agree bike change probably not worth it, but I'm not sure I 100% agree that it's road bike only. The significant climb is on dirt roads, and if you can hang on in the draft on the flattish tarmac and attack on the climb on a gravel bike there's definitely an argument for that. If you did a TT on it, I'm sure a road bike would be quicker but race dynamics can be different.

Anyway, everyone can make their own call.....will anyone be brave enough to gamble with the gravel bike and attack the climb...?

You can also do it from the Zwift companion app by touching the powerup. Does that also work on ATV?
Yes it does. Personally I find it easier to press the button on the ATV remote as touchscreens don't always react well to sweatiness!

Here's my ATV remote mounted to my handlebar with hi-tech sweat shield* for non-necessary buttons (*patent pending:okay:)

Edit - the patent MAY get held up with a counter-claim from @IrishAl who will probably claim this is based on his original design, which followed a couple of unfortunate wrong buton pressing mishaps in ZRL TTTs if I remember correctly

You're quite possibly the youngest/second youngest (@mjd1988 ?) rider on here. Not many below 50 ... you should be showing us oldies a clean pair of cleats ... seems you're not working hard enough Peter  You was beaten by a 52 year old asthmatic last night
Absolutely right - taking it easy and still improving  Don't worry - won't keep you waiting for too long :boxing:

Oooh, a longish race then, nice. No point of going gravel imho unless a lot of other people do the same - anything you gain on those bits will be lost by road bikes being in a blob.

Only 16 riders, and looking at the time gaps at the finish of yesterday's race I'm not sure there were many "blobs" of riders for very long - groups of 2 or 3 at best. Also, difference in abilities means we're effectively not all racing each other anyway, just those closest to us. In a big ZRL race or something I'd probably agree with you, but in a small race like ours I still think there's something to think about

Might be quicker on a PC with keyboard shortcuts, but on an iPad it takes about 20s to stop and you can't switch bikes until you've stopped. On a really long race with distinct sections it would be worth it. e.g. lots of flat then the Alpe, but for something like this it's hard to see it paying off - particularly if you have to do it six times.

Not talking about changing, talking about whether to go for gravel bike or road bike (for the whole race)

I think I found a possible reason for my poor Discord experience.

Turns out when I pair my Bluetooth headphones the output (speakers) work fine but the input (mic) doesn't - instead the phone insists on using the internal mic. Same story with several phones.

I have the Aftershokz Aeropex - anyone have had a similar issue? For the life of me I can't find any advice googling.
