Oh. There's a good reason I've not ridden Tire-Bouchon or Petit Boucle yet. I can't think I ever will, except as a long workout (which is kind of cheating if you're using erg mode, as I do). This new Fondo route looks properly dull!

While I definitely wouldn't be keen to do a 140km ride on Zwift, I had no problem with crossing off Tire-Bouchon and Petit Boucle. Both took me less than 2 hours and I wasn't exactly pushing hard on either of them. And at least they had a decent variety of scenery and terrain unlike going up Ven-Top. Done that once and really couldn't stomach it again - two and a half hours of sheer monotony and aching legs long before I'd even reached halfway.

Annoyingly I have done the Chalet Reynard route separately as well but it was before there was a badge attached to it, so strictly speaking I do need to do the climb to 2/3rds again in order to be able to say I've completed all the France routes.

Where can you view the route? Does it include Ven-Top?

I think I've said it a few times but I strangely really like the France map. I'm never bored doing my session as I usually think about something completely different than the actual ride.

Yeah I have also done La Reine in a race about 6 weeks before it had a badge. Almost an hour and a half of climby joy
Still got petit boucle to finish France as well.

p.s. Not able to ride this evening.

That was great. Well done @Legs . I tried to go with you with a feather in second kom then realised even if I caught you my legs would then probably collapse. Couldn't offer anything to Pete to chase and minimal to Paul tbh but was fun that we had a group sprint. Ran out of road despite a long long sprint - an aero would have been nice but I actually don't think anyone got one?

Looked like a lot of battles ongoing on the road. It's a great course isn't it.

Thanks again @steverob for organising

I won't say final results yet, cause I'm tempted to add a sixth stage...

Maybe a TT, where I pick a course that should take about 25-30 minutes, then give everyone a whole week to do it at their leisure. Set yourself up a Meetup so there's no-one else in that world (no drafting!), pick any bike you like and if you want to ride it more than once you can - best time that week counts.

What does everyone think? Happy to drop the idea if everyone says "NO!" ^_^

That was some really good fun. Particularly enjoyed @Legs breakaway on the second KOM and my subsequent solo pursuit, followed by @bridgy and @mjd1988 joining us for the final sprint. Another photo finish! :becool:

Thanks for arranging, @steverob :okay:

Any good battles behind?

Sound like a good idea to me. How about a route in Scotland now that it's available? Muckle Yin? Strava segment time? Only TT bikes?

Thanks once again for organising, @steverob !

Thanks to the front group for sitting up and waiting for me early on… I’d been enjoying the convivial easy pace, and thought it’d be good to allow (I think) @CXRAndy to close up a little 3s gap that had opened. I was trying to type ease up? but like a compete tool I forgot to hit ‘m’ and got taken to the pairing screen!

Pretty sure that Pete’s avatar was ahead of mine at the finish line. Was there a blue hologram line slightly separate from the finish arch, or was I imagining it? Be interesting to see if Andy got any footage, though it looks like he had a close finish with @steverob so can understand if he wasn’t doing the roving cameraman job tonight!

Brilliant chase from @Peter Salt, @mjd1988 and @bridgy to bring things back together in the end. Damn, you guys are good at sitting in and putting out low watts!
