I have Dasselta 5mg for an allergic reactions. Never know what happens, it's a prescription medicine. Good to have that just in case.

I also bought Husqvarna 415X robotic lawn mower so more time for cycling . Local shop install that coming Thursday or Friday.

We got a robot mower a couple of weeks ago - just a LawnMaster L10, not as all-singing-all-dancing as your Husqvarna - but it’s brilliant and does free up on mowing time. 👍

In other news, I’m back up to A today. I did a HC on the Sgurr which took 2:58, but managed to set critical power bests at every duration from 2:30 to 4 minutes! Shame I didn’t carry on because I’m sure I’d have beaten 400W for 5 minutes…

I'm out of the Dirt series, like a few on here, my annual asthma season has begun. That and hay-fever, which is manageable.

I'd be no good at racing, so will just do easy rides till my symptoms clear-usually about a month (thunderstorm season)

The invite has arrived from the UCI and I've now signed up for the GF Worlds on 4th August.

The routes have been published and us over 60's are doing the Medio Fondo which is only 51 miles long and 2,764 feet of climbing most of it in the first half. (The Gran Fondo is 100 miles). I'd have liked it to be longer but heyho.

I noticed a couple of days ago that my eyes were a bit sticky and my voice was a bit "nasal". I never thought of hay fever until Wendy reminded me I don't normally have any major effects from it luckily.

Oof, I never had hay fever before, not that I recall at least, but definitely do now. I must be getting older. A colleague also told me that pollen count is apparently off the chart in the area at the moment. Sniffing, sneezing, coughing up green stuff, headache, and feeling quite tired. My eyes are OK though.

Will still do the DIRT race, but expect even less now in terms of result.

Oof, I never had hay fever before, not that I recall at least, but definitely do now. I must be getting older.

Everyone is getting older - the alternative is worse.

Allergies are not age related. I became allergic to grass in my late teens and a few years later also birch. I have sort of learned to live with a snotty nose and red eyes from around April->August. Thankfully you (read: I) don't feel it much when on the road, but I do need to take a shower to get the pollen off my body/hair, as soon as I get home!

For some, the allergy goes away again after some time/years. But with my 30+ years of hay fever I think that is unlikely to happen.

My asthma//hay fever has been a lifelong issue. From me being a baby my mum smoked in the house. I had child hood asthma. Since the ban on smoking in public places/ pubs etc my asthma has dramatically improved. I have for the last 10 years only suffered in June July. Bizarrely my asthma is triggered by thunderstorms, not sure exactly, but high does of inhalers till the weather breaks from really hot heat, Ill need to take them. I spent this morning doing bits and bobs in the gym where I was feeling pretty good. It's sealed up and has aircon set at 18,,°C . It was lovely.

Nice hot day in here, 2hr ride and avg. temperature was +29°C. Might take some time to adapt body that temperature.

Considered bailing out of the race, but noticed @bridgy done the Atlantic race, which was earlier. Looks like everyone got the memo that it's a points race and took it super easy outside of the segments. That kind of cheered me up. Will definitely have a proper go at the sprint, at least.
