Yes. There is a threshold for category upgrade and a slightly higher threshold WTRL use for DQ.
If you hit the upgrade threshold without going over the DQ threshold, your points stand but you can't carry on with that team. If you go over both, you get DQed as well.

For example in C --> B it's something like 3.36 zFTP but if you do 3.4 you can upgrade without DQ. If you do 3.5 you're DQed as well.
(Those numbers may not be exactly spot-on, but you get the idea).
Thanks Alex , I understand it now

It is too much. I agree. Looks like they've put both points races as rollers with punchy 2 minute climbs, both scratch races as 12-15 minute climbs (if you add the pre-segment climb) and everything is laps rather than longer routes (apart from Roule ma Poule which is twice up Petit reverse).
I'm fine with Cobbled Climbs, but Leith is a b'stard. There'll be bodies all over the road.

I'm just glad I'm still a C and not likely (ever?) to be a B again because there is no way I'd be signing up to the volume of riding the Bs have to do. I struggle to sleep on Tuesdays after the race already :surrender:

We have a few super-lightweights in our league - and two of them are in our team! The only problem is that neither of them could make last night's race - d'oh!

Because of that I was our highest placed rider and so the team finished 9th out of 10. With those two in the team we'd have probably done really well, but that's how it goes sometimes.

I have a cold, my peak flow is registering 60% lung efficiency and I was our top rider last night  I have suffered today though, my lungs are still burning and I'm puffing my asthma meds more than Froomey in the Alpes haha
We could do with a 50kg rider in our team, that's for sure!

Well done. My infamous win over David Hivey came on race 3 of that set of races about 2 years ago. Just a single race mind, he took overall and I got silver that week. No I will NEVER shut up about it. I've got his Afro scalp on my wall.

Mad. Sounds like your fitness is returning

Ah, the Afro scalp - we did like winning one of those back in the day

I came 14th in the ZRS race yesterday. I created the first KoM in lead group of 14 but my chest was on fire with cold and asthma so I knew I wasn't competing for the win ... my plan was to hang on to the group to KoM climb 2, and pace my way up and hang on to 14th place.

Minute into the 2nd KoM and I let the lead group go. There was a rider 40 seconds behind but I thought I could hold him off - but he chased me all the way, crested just after me and tried to jump me on the descent. I held on to his wheel. He then twice tried to drop me on the tarmac section through the village, and failed. He then started his sprint early to jump me to the finish. I was hoping not to need to sprint but I couldn't let the youngster get away with trying to drop me so I did a Hivey, cruised his wheel then jumped him on the last 300 metres. Broke his heart haha. He congratulated me on a great sprint finish.
Can't wait to get this cold gone so I can get my sprint back working full pace again (although it clearly won't be needed next week on those 2 damn climbs in the TT

You'll be OK after you retire again and don't have to race evenings. Morning racing gives you a chance to recover before the evening and doesn't screw up the night. It really does make a huge difference.

That's likely what I'll do
My gf is planning to move in with me in August and she still works, so the current thinking is I gym mornings and race on non-gym days, and z2 on gym days after the gym.
Leaving evenings mostly free.
I do enjoy and feel more energised racing later in the day but 7pm races are a smidge late - 5pm would be better if pushed. But more likely be daytime going forwards once I break the shackles (again) of work (they're suggesting offering me money to stay on longer but I must resist haha

Bugger! Asthma not getting better after the ride Tuesday. GP has me booked in to their respiritory specialist in a bit as they're concerned that I sound so bad.
She reminded me that asthma is serious and needs urgent attention if not beong managed - I chose not to tell her that I had the 3rd fastest time up the KoM Tuesday and that probably doesn't help how I feel now!!
Hopefully they can give me some drugs to help, and make me a faster cyclist (well, it worked for Froome lol)

What is it about us cyclists?! That reminds me of taking over an hour to do the normally sub-30 minute Cragg Vale climb in 2012 to celebrate Wiggins winning the TDF. It turned that the chesty cough that slowed me down was caused by a life-threatening pulmonary embolism...

Hopefully they can give me some drugs to help, and make me a faster cyclist (well, it worked for Froome lol)
I'm sure that they can/will.

Warfarin did the trick for my illness - 60+ minutes climb time now down to 27!

I hope that they find the right drugs cocktail for you. Just remember to wave your TUE at the other riders as you pass them. GWS!

Very last minute I decided to ride. I picked up Rhino crit low key event 8 riders

There were a couple of ringers, which ultimately spoilt the results a little. One fella, 'Salty' aged 110, recently doing very well in C cat and B races/events.

And a super lightweight Irvine 4.1Wkg, 130 Watts, making the rider 31kgs!!

I hung on into the final lap where the pace ramped, I got dropped. I managed to not come last by digging in and use steering to sneak up the inside of the other dropped rider at the finishing line.

Gonna have to find age category events, ZRS score is crackers.

All those who have open profiles are C category

There was a bit of banter about salty mid race- he just coasted for the event and got beat by a baby weight rider

Anyhow- enjoy

watching you both live ... 7.5km t go, it's a nailbiter!!

I put in a sustained effort on Libby. Not killing it but thought it would put Phil under pressure on his tired legs. (He rode a ton yesterday 💯). It did the trick, then I had about 32s at the start of the final climb, so eased off after about half of that.

Libby decided it a blew up about 250 from the top and it was bye bye Alex as expected . Alex didn't tell me it was a points race 🤣 so he got the 1st sprint unopposed

It's a points race with Finish points only. By doing that we disable the Zwiftracing.app handicaps and race on pure vELO scores alone.
I just like to cheekily poke my nose in front on the sprint banners because I'm a child.
