I've mentioned several times my frustration with my lower indoor power vs outdoor.

This year I have been focused on doing a few max effort sprints on my indoor endurance Z2 rides. Today I hit my max power of 945W - approaching the magic kilowatt and better than the 874W which was my best indoor in the whole of 2025.

I also hope this translates into higher outdoor max power as well - just waiting for some decent weather to find out ^_^

That has me curious about what I could do.

I have done low 600s outdoors but those were not absolutely maximal efforts because I worry about falling off. (I did that in one catastrophic teenage sprint which mangled my left shoulder!)

I would feel safer sprinting on the turbo so I think that I could maybe (briefly!) top 700 W?

I will have a go in the springtime once I am free of winter bugs.

As long as I breathe, I attack.
Session this morning with yumi 2.9 w/ kg which started out badly as my phone i use for giving ride ons fell off the worktop just as ride assist ended so i was scrambling off the back for a while trying to catch up then i needed more cooling so i thought i could reach the back door but i nearly fell off !
Just a 38 minute session but my ftp went from 193 to 200 during the session so im happy considering a month ago my knee was still hurting until i tried single leg deadlifts at home , not sure if it is the thing the exercise that sorted it or it magically got better in the space of a week but i have added them to my weight routine permanently.
The old elite qubo is still going strong and has been a game changer for more accurate and make the workout more fun

Maybe having a bit more weight to put on the pedals hasn’t been entirely bad..?

In the last few hundred metres everyone was looking at each other and it became a game of chicken.
Eventually someone cracked and we "went" at about 250m, which I thought was far too late, but we were all dead after doing Epic and Jungle climbs.

(I couldn't be arsed to chase that D though as my race was with the blues  )
