Yeah brutal race - and 5 laps in Cat B for me and @mjd1988 was more than enough!

We both said beforehand we'd hold something back in the first laps because staying in the front group was the most important thing - and then raced to 1st & 3rd the first time up the KOM! Thankfully that didn't burn too many matches and we both avoided getting dropped - Michael finishing 3rd on the line and me 10th. Somehow I got 3rd FTS in the first sprint too, despite being in 22nd place over the sprint finish and getting gapped slightly! Must have had a good draft I guess!

In terms of points (as this was a points race after all) Michael got 3rd and I got 9th - I think we're both very happy with that considering it's a strong league we were in.

Well done, everyone.

I'm putting cycling on the backburner a little bit at the moment while I get my running legs back in order - I've entered the Manchester Marathon in 12 months' time and, while it's too early for specific training, it's no bad thing to spend a bit more time on my feet. However, Zwifting with Coco is, I find, a good way of unstiffening my legs! I managed to upgrade my Aethos to Level 4 this morning.

Anyone else racing the next Dirt Racing series starting next Tuesday?

Me and Michael are planning to race in a Sapphire team for Electric Spirit again - there's still room on the team if anyone else at Sapphire level (or below if you're brave!) is interested?

I'm riding with the Silver riders in our DIRT team - currently the C1 dev races are a mix of Golds and Silvers so us Silvers are dropped before halfway, but I found the Dirt race serious last time I was able to hold on better - these velo cats do seem to be quite well balanced I think.

As for your offer to race in Sapphire ... maybe next time :surrender:

That final sprint I was convinced I was going to blast past everyone and take the 'win' (well, 20th place haha) - legs just had nothing  I went from planned hero to zero in 2 pedal strokes. :surrender: I knew my legs were shot, but I thought I might have had at least 30 seconds left in them - nah, zilch haha

Your group did really well to catch us as we were still working hard on the climbs and racing. We could see you gaining on us but we could do nothing about it.

A great workout though - I really need to start racing more as 1 race every few weeks is not improving my fitness. I'm still stuck at about 2.5 w/kg in races with a puny climbing ability.

You need to get out more - literally. Indoor volume is boring AF. Outdoor is where it's at for the longer stuff.

I'm Captaining Sprocketeers in Atlantic once again in Amethyst/Platinum, so your recon videos should be going out on the usual schedule

Good news! Also it does really help if you do the same length race as me and Michael are going to do later in the day - these ZRL ones where you do a different distance or even a different course completely are very incovenient ^_^

My primary fitness is still gym, building up the guns :training: cycling is mostly for some cardio and keep keep some timber off. I may get out when the weather is better, but I hate riding in the rain or wind, so I won't be out this weekend
Quite a lot going on with life too so I don't have the time currently - my retirement didn;t quite take off yet, I'm back at a client for a few months to help deliver a project that was failing. I couldn't say no to the cash haha Girlfriend is moving in with me in August so lots of stuff to do to ge that sorted ... I need more hours in the day!

Zwift have just acquired Rouvy!
Hmmm instinctively wonder if this will lead to higher subscriptions. Although I guess their main competitor is effectively free.

From a quick glance nothing really is changing? Just a lot of the zwift hardware working on rouvy and subscriptions staying separate. Hopefully there's some sharing of innovation.
