Argon 18 Nitrogen if it were my opportunity to lash the big bucks on one bike or possibly the Canyon Aeroad CF SLX

I've conceded to the fact that if I go for either the Argon or Cervelo, the wheels would have to be upgraded at some point. It's making me more keen on the Giant.

The Canyon Aero Road is lovely, but there a few things with Canyon putting me off. No finance options, can't try before you buy and its not as if you can pop it back to the shop If there's any issues. I know some will say they took the plunge and it was fine but for me, well I'm just not comfortable with that.

Absolutely, 1 bike, custom built to your needs.
Its what i did with my build

1 bike - 3 sets of wheels and tyres

1 set of carbons 25mm contis
1 set of handbuilts 28mm contis
1 set 29er wheels 32mm cyclocross tyres

All with disc brakes and the same 10 speed cassettes

The Mavic? Light of course, they spin up easily for the hills. I certainly prefer them to the F3s I had before. Obviously not very aero, feels like they're really chopping the air at speed. Worth the cost though and they'll be my backup set for sure.

I thought about C24s but decided to go back to Mavs as I have had good experiences in the past with them.

A bit harsh though when the road surface isn't great. Not sure if that's related to the alloy spokes or the rims which are pretty boxy.

I'd heard that they are harsh on bad surfaces. They are standard on the bike I'm looking at buying imminently but was thinking of swapping for the C24's for the comfort element. Also heard some not so good things about the tyres included, I'd probably want 25mm tyres anyway to be honest...

It's my 40th soon and permission has been granted for a new bike. As its my 40th I'm going to treat myself. I like road riding, and also triathlons. At the moment my current bike covers both.

My dilemma is do I go for my dream bike, something like a cervelo s3 and use it for Tri's also. Or do I get a TT/Tri style bike and then get a road bike too. Budget will be around the 4K region. What would 2k on each get me?

All comments and advice appreciated. Would also appreciate some brands and models to look at.
Take a trip up to vo2 in hildenborough and speak to Jimmy . He has a range of bikes including a fantastic value revolution aero frame bike.

Jimmy is a triathlon specialist and vo2 make some amazing, British stuff....I'll warn you though, the website images do not do the revolution justice. It's a lovely frame and a full build up needn't set you back more than £1500.

I bought some wheels from them and they are rock solid, well made and look the nuts.

Yes, I swapped them for 25mm Conti 4 Seasons pretty quick.
