Pete Townsend at the Uxbridge Arms, Notting Hill, ages ago. I think I actually beat him in the queue at the bar, inadvertantly.

Jack Straw, ages ago, while queueing for a rail ticket at Euston station. He was behind me , although I didn't know it, and another counter was about open up. I wondered whether I should take the risk of defecting to the new queue when a voice behind me said " I'll keep your place". That showed common decency. Top Man.

I went to Wimbledon for a few years in the 1980s and 1990s. Can I name most of the tennis players as a group Borg, Navratilova, McEnroe, Connors, Lendl, Edberg, Sampras, the -itches and also those in the Royal Box :B). Can also mention F1 as I also went to a few Grand Prix testing sessions in the 1980s when security wasn't that tight and met many of the then drivers.

Also can I mention I drove Anika Rice's car in the South France?

That's my brown nosing for the moment.

I literally bumped into Dennis Healy at Victoria Station in about 1990. "Oh, sorry mate" said I, looking up and then noticing who it was.
And I saw Michael Portillo coming out of the gents bog in the Army & Navy store, also nr Victoria Station, some time early 90s.

I've worked with lots of Bands and comics, so that does not count, I've also seen the Queen a couple of times, but that does not count either.

I've shaken hands with Princess Anne, said Hello to Michael Hesseltine (I knew the face, said hello, then realised who it was) and on my bike nearly ran over the then Chancellor of the Exchecor Norman Lamont as he came out of the Bank of England and did not look where he was going. I used to see Glenda Jackson in Sainsburys on a Saturday and still see Terry Waite around the place from time to time.
