my scott's about 2 and a bit years old, got it in feb 07. It's barely gone a couple of months without being chopped and changed about and having bits changed/added/taken off
my 'summer' bike's only 1 ride old!
my mtb's about 18 months old...it too has had its fair share of upgrades, although i think it's reached its 'zen' state now and isn't crying out for any more pimping up
my raleigh fixed is about 27 years old, used to be my dad's and he says he bought it in about 1982 - although in its current revamped (fixed) state it is about 4 months old. only frame, headset, and stem are original.

Hi,
My first post!!!!
I ride a 1980 holdsworth special original campagnolo chain set but new (ish) shimano 501 hubs with mavac rims and mavac " racing" center pull brakes.
I use it to comute everyday but plan some long runs this summer!!

I have to say for a 28 year old bike under a 40 year old rider - not much gets past me in the mornings!!!

Love the forum by the way!

roadie I've had for 4 years
mtb/commuter I've had for 5, but it was second hand... so gawd knows...
Had a 'pub bike' (a raleigh mtb) (though all my pubs are withing walking distance  )... gradually taking bits off it to bodge stuff elsewhere, so it's no longer a full bike, as such, but I bought it new in 1993

Just assembled a road bike with bits off eBay based around a Ridley Pegasus frame and Zonda wheels. It shakes yer fillings out on rough back roads but is great otherwise. My other is a first generation o/s ali which looked good at the time but doesn't really cut it on the road-so it's now a winter bike..

I've only ever bought one complete bike new, and that was in 1988. I still have it, but the only original parts are the frame (but not its paint) and the brake arms.

I've also had the same broom since 1979. It's had six new heads and three new handles.

(Only one of the above statements is true).
