Used to have a bit of a nightmare with MiL in the past. We'd bought a new house and my wife gave her a key in case she needed to check on it while we were away. She lived about 7 miles away.
We'd be in at night and the first thing I'd know was her walking into the living room, having let herself in
She's touchy at best so this was a nightmare. It went on for a few months until I told my wife if she didn't sort it I would. Wife finally bottled it, changed the locks under some pretext or other, and then "forgot" to give her another key
