In reply to others I'm not keen on the pebble and use my phone for strava.

the timex etc I have plenty of steel strapped watches etc.

traser is nice but a tad expensIve to get knocked about in work.

what model gshock is that ? Although it sounds a bit annoying if the light keeps going off every time i lift my arm

MTG can't remember the model number - it's was in Mission Impossible II if you google it.

It's fine, it's actually my swim and DIY watch, I don't wear a watch when cycling.

well them fenix are a bit flash lol.
this is what I have.
They don't get much cheaper than this
A wealthy cousin once told me that a gentleman over forty should never wear watch costing less than one hundred pounds. I have adjusted for inflation.

Another vote for Timex Indiglo - I've got the Marathon model and it's spot on. Big easy to see display, easy to operate light and waterproof to 50m.

I've had several Casio / GShock watches and on every one the strap failed shortly after the warranty expired, with the cost of a new strap being so expensive it wasn't worth doing!

I have an old spare Casio G-Shock watch which is 'hybrid' so has digital and analogue, Id wear it a lot more if it wasnt such a pain in the ass to adjust for daylight saving. Every bloody time it takes me at least 10mins to try and get it correct. I wear a more fancy watch to work that has all atomic timekeeping, solar power & all that jazz, That way it auto adjusts itself and all i have to do is leave it in the windowsill to get some rays so the battery keeps charged.

I tend not to wear a watch when cycling as it gets in the way of my gloves & my garmin edge as well as my phone has the time anyway.

I have some nice watches ;)
I just wanted an easy to read in the dark robust watch for work and commute

Ah - I assumed digital/stopwatch etc from the op, you probably want to consider a seiko V.

What, and mount it on the bars ?
Does it do routes for recreational cycling ?
That might be an option. Although what is the battery life ?
I still want a watch

yes, yes and yes, though if you want full on satnav then you're gonna end up paying a pretty penny for the more higher end units. my 520 can manage at least two to three weeks if you use it about an hour or two per day 4 or 5 days a week.
