You'll be ok. In Paris everyone is annoyed if you don't speak excellent French, but eventually they'll admit they speak excellent English if they need to. In the rest of France, people are generally keen to communicate, and will happy with any attempt to speak french. Hence my famous "je mange quel que chose, et maintenant je suis malade"

Just make sure you have Translate on your phone, if you don't want to accidentally order raw beef.
