John McGahern - Amongst Women. It was my recommendation to my book group, so I hope it doesn't go down like my last one - Confederacy of Dunces, which I think is hilarious but almost everyone else hated.

Kitchener's Last Volunteer - the semi autobiography of Henry Allingham, the oldest surviving person to fight in the First World War - he's 112.

Oh, and on his 100th birthday he went for a bike ride!

Among others, Millstone Grit - A Pennine Journey which I borrowed off longers a while back. (Sorry for the delay in getting it back to you Mark - I had a book backlog which I've been working my way through.)

the God delusion-good book.

Do you think so? I enjoyed selfish gene, blind watchmaker etc. years ago but had to stick GD in the bin after a hundred pages as it was so dire.
