Great Tit gathering wool for nesting.

Back in August 2022 I reported seeing a Black Kite: now two birders have taken great photos of one which was in Notts last Wednesday and Thursday. NB NOT my pics - I didn't see this one!

Had a red kite glide along with me for a few hundred yards yesterday, I presume it was hoping I would disturb the roadside residents rather than taking a fancy to my cap.

Couple of Siskins on the nyger seed feeder again, along with the usual Goldfinches.

lost dog 12:30pm yesterday. sent it to the local police in case anyone was looking for it. walked by our patio then up into the woods where we've seen a coyote. this is the same dog that walked by around midnight in September. at that time, the police used the video to help reunite it w/ it's owners. apparently those owners have an ongoing problem, eh?

We’ve had a pair of goldfinches visiting the bird feeders for a week. Today was the first time I’d actually seen them AND I managed to get my camera!

Just before this happened I had a visit from a blackcap where I park my van.

Interesting that the Blackcap was in a Mahonia - whenever one overwinters in our garden it's the Mahonia they gravitate towards!

Staying on a caravan site at Lands End and just saw the first Swallows of the year.
Loads of them flitting around the site.
