Hello! I am new to this forum and also to cycling. I want to buy a hybrid bike mainly for commuting (Nottingham, 3-4 miles per day). My budget is £200 and I will keep the bike for 2 years and then I will have to dispose it (because of moving abroad). So I think even the £200 are a little bit too much for my needs. Nevertheless, I found these bikes that I think are nice, but I cannot choose between them so I ask for your help:

1) Carrera Axle

2) Viking Pimlico
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Viking-Pim...1_51?s=cycling&ie=UTF8&qid=1478035990&sr=1-51

3) AMMACO CS250
https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product..._18?ie=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=FQ5F0K83DJ0JGES7JH28

Also, a cheaper one:
4) Saxon Trail Hybrid Bike

Any advise is welcome.

Go for the Carrera, decent brand, the others are pretty ropey ones. I wouldn't buy a bike off Amazon

Otherwise, you'd likely do better second hand

The carrera is ok except for the kenda tyres. Upgrade to shwalbe marathon for a more reliable commute. Also budget for bolt on muguards, rear rack, lock, lights, helmet , repair kir as required.Carerra will have a resale value of £70+.

How about a Wilier Asolo?
I got one for £200, delivered, from the UK distributors on eBay.
I've now done a couple of hundred miles on it and I'm very impressed. It's light, quick and handles really well.
It will take a rack and mudguards as well - ideal commuter bike.
Thoroughly recommended.
Look at this on eBay http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/162257836750

If you can get the Willier in your size ( they only look to have extra small) for £200 then that's a cracking deal otherwise definately the Carerra. The others are poor in my opinion and have little resale value.

That's a cracking good deal @biggs682 is offering, better spec than any of the new ones, plus you'll be able to sell it for what you gave. Just need to check your size, without being too personal what's your inside leg?

Budget for a good lock.

I'd definitely go with the bike from @biggs682 , that's an absolute no brainer. If you keep it cleaned and give it a service once a year it won't lose any value at all. Even with delivery you're going to have plenty of money for a decent d-lock (ignore all cable locks, they're generally crap), plus lights (needed this time of year). It already has full mudguards and a rack, it's the perfect commuter.
