Hello,

I have a bike with a 10 speed shimano 105 (5700) groupset.

If I replace the chainset with an 11 speed one, will I need also to replace the chain with an 11 speed one or will a 10 speed one be narrow enough?

If so, then does anyone have experience of using an 11 speed chain with 10 speed dérailleurs and cassette?

The chainset I'm thinking of will be one of:
Ultegra 6800
Sram Force 22
Dura Ace 9000
Sram red 22

No but I can't grasp why you would want to buy an 11 speed chainset and run it 10 speed?

Why not just buy a 10 speed chainset and save yourself a world of pain? The DA 7900 chainset is awesome and you can get it for less that £300.

If it is just the chainset I can't see why it wouldn't work ok, if you tried to run an 11 speed chain on a 10 speed setup you might have a problem. Would have to agree with Stu why do it? The 10 speed equivelant surely will be cheaper than 11.
