Has anyone found a 105 set for cheaper than the usual places (wiggle, evans, crc, ribble) just that i am upgrading my 8 speed winter bike.

Bits i need are:
Sti levers
front/ rear derailer
chain rings.

I already have wheelset and cassette

Google?

How much at wiggle?
Merlin often have deals.
Don't forget quidco

You'll need a chain too. Probably cheaper to buy whole lot and keep cassette in reserve

I got Evans to price match down to £299 then used Zeek to buy vouchers at 20% discount. That was for a full 5800 setup. Leaves me a spare BB, cassette and chain, but worked out cheaper than getting the components separately.

If you already have a crankset, then you could think about getting the new one in different ratios.

Don't usually see the words 'upgrade' and 'winter bike' in the same sentence.

I'll get me coat....

Don't upgrade a winter 8 speed bike, ride the hell out of it and enjoy it for the simplicity and durability it gives you, or if you won't enjoy it, then replace it with a better bike. Don't bugger about.

@Soltydog gives you a link to a Merida at Paul's Bikes with 105 equipment, it's an astonishing bargain if you want to replace. It will ride perfectly well in the winter. Oh and it's a summer bike as well.

N+1 :okay:
