I'd be impressed if it was a manual....

In Australia, all you need to do is not have a bell or correct reflector on your bike, or not be wearing a helmet, and the police crack down quickly enough.
As for bad driving: Australia's driving is probably at least as bad as the UK's. With the recent laws introduced in the state of NSW, Australia's well on the way to becoming an international joke.

If I could wheelie that far I would certainly do it at 3pm on Queens road. I would want as many people as possible to appreciate my awesomeness. No use doing it in your back yard with only your mother as a witness. It seems as if this chap may even receive some sort of document that he could put in a frame and hang on the wall.

It's funny that this rider can make the news in a place that must have the worst vehicular driving standards in the western world. ^_^

I find it even funnier that they have summonsed him to court. What a waste of time and money and surely an on the spot fine would have sufficed

Are wheelies appropriate on busy roads at any time?

No they are not.

Hard luck pal. Find a quiet area to practice stunts.

I avoid Queens Road at 9pm with two wheels let alone 3pm with one.

Yeah, right. A truck driver who can't see a 6ft high lycra-clad weaving wobbling, velo artist in the road should be slagged off.

So the plank on the bike loses it and ends up running into the opposite Lane into the path of a truck. You think the truck driver is responsible.

How does that work?

I was at Hillingdon cycle track on evening a couple of years ago, as I was riding the 0.9 mile circuit anti clockwise two lads on mountain bikes were wheelieing clockwise. I met them coming the other way 3 or 4 times and never saw the front wheels touch the ground.
