For a number of reasons I got out of the habit......rain/golf/hospital visits etc.
So today I thought..........Dave, if you don't get out it is going to get harder" and guess what.......I actually listened to my own good advice
Just did 11 miles but 'by the 'eck' it was cold. I will try a 15 at the week end........must keep it up so as to enjoy the Spring (if it ever comes).

I like Skol

A Minging Manc...
Got the family out on the bikes today. Just 16 miles but it was at a slow pace as Lady Skol only rides several times a year. Didn't notice the cold on the way out but it was bitter on the way back, especially as the speed was so much below my normal intensity level.
Still good to be out though and we took the Solarstorm X2's so for the first time ever had light to ride through Scout canal tunnel at Mossley. It isn't nearly as grotty and frightening as you imagine it.

I'm just back from a 30 miler on my CX bike - lovely day but bloody hell that wind was cold today.

Good luck getting back on the bike though.

Managed to do 26 miles yesterday (windy) and 25 today (cold) so I don't feel we've wasted the two days.

20 hilly miles for me today around Bath...cold hands and very cold feet when I returned even though good gloves and shoe covers. I think I may use some hand warmers for the morning ride/commute tomorrow...

I haven't ridden since the Thursday before Xmas, my next ride is planned for Thursday next and will be my fourth comeback ride.

I did the same as few weeks back. I really struggled, just never got my breathing right the whole trip, my mouth filled with thick clear saliva that wasn't pleasant. Never easy getting back into it, well done.

Got out in the Peaks today and after 25 mile my toes felt like they were just lumps of frozen meat. Still a tea stop in Cromford allowed me to warm my tootsies on the radiator. ..

The 60 kph descent into Beeley got the adrenaline pumping if not the warm blood...

As long as I breathe, I attack.
Doing more than me atm, with x mas and kids even though im off im finding it hard work even getting to the turbo, got a total gym second hand off ebay and they were jumping all over it rather than let me have 30 seconds to make sure it was even safe.

I did 25 miles in brass monkey weather yesterday, first time out for a fortnight and found it challenging to say the least but was pleased when I got home that I had listened to myself and made the effort. Havent done as many miles this year as I would have liked due to family commitments and my lovely wife being ill. Although I have done considerably more than my ticker suggests. Hope this can be sorted for next year???

I haven't managed a decent ride since just before Christmas, starting to get a little twitchy now!

I don't think I will brave the ice after work it hasn't really thawed all day, and I have seen too many drunk drivers to last me a lifetime this Christmas.

I abandoned my planned ride today before it started, even some of the main roads were icy, I drove over instead, my next ride will be in the new year.
