Hi

Need some help. I am stuck between 3 bikes to choose from.
They Are
Claud-Butler-Criterium-2012 at £350
Triban 3 at £300
Carrera virtuoso race limited edition at £350

This is my first road bike! Do bout 6 miles as day

Thanks

Hi Adam,
Everyone seems to rave about the Triban 3's in this price bracket, and I agree looking at the spec.
Lots more posters will advise later today

*Triban 3 owner radar alerted*

Doing my 1st Imperial century this weekend on my Triban 3, all being well, Which will take me over the 3000 mile mark on it - Very Very pleased overall. 10p* per mile  Excellent value

The wheels are the weak point in my opinion and as I had a pannier rack on it originally, my rear wheel shed spokes after 1500 miles or so. Decathlon were willing to fix it but I decided to put some Aksiums on it. That said, as long as your 6 miles are on reasonable roads then they should be fine, aside from that it has been ace.

*I am legally obliged to explain that this costing does not include accessories/upgrades/pies and all the other spending that happens when you start cycling!

Why didn't you get decathlon to fix the wheel, *then* put the Aksiums on?

Stu

I got a discount on the Aksiums after explaining the situation (They were a good price anyway) - after 1500 miles I thought they would say "Wear and Tear sir" so it was very fair I thought + it meant I could switch the cassette over that evening and ride the next day
