My daughter has a bike with mudguard eyelets. It has 20" x 1.75 tyres. I hate the clip on plastic mudguards but would like her to enjoy her cycling, even when the roads are wet, anyone got any ideas where I might get a cheap set of proper mudguards that would fit? I have seen a couple of pairs on ebay but at nearly £30 I was a bit put off by the price.

There are a few around

Bluemels / SKS do a chromoplastic version in 20" at about £25, which is probably the best quality

Tern do a set for their bikes, which are easily modified at about £20

I got some SKS Velo Kids for the Mad Scientist's bike. Haven't fitted them yet (her birthday's next week), but they seem well made, and can clip off if needed - they have brackets that bolt on the frame. Only problem is I had to get them from Bike Discount in Germany.
