I took a ride around the Olympic site a couple of weeks ago to see how close a view I could get without going on a guided tour. The nearest I managed to get to it was from a new retail park to the north-east of the velodrome...and I have to agree: from there it did look as though it had been sponsored by Pringles.

Yep, a round of the World Cup, most likely around this time next year. At least we will be sure that everyone that matters from all countries will be there to give it a go. Hopefully they won't be charging £230 for a two hour session either

It's already known to be inferior to the Manchester one. After all, how many riders have had a huge slice of wood burst through their legs yet? Point proven there, I think.

Dellzeqq - you made a comment on the splinter thread about the type of wood used to make that track ... do you know which type of wood they have chosen here?, as on the Breakfast News they were making comments about it being designed to be fast.

As for the parking thing. Tarantara!!!! It wasn't until TfL's ATAG committee got on the case that they thought of putting cycle parking at the western park entrance. No, really. You could not make this crap up.....
