Why? (As someone looking at new Sora for my runaround/commuter)

Sora works and I wouldn't say don't buy it, but if you want slick shifting then look to Tiagra minimum. If you have never tried anything above Sora then you have nothing to worry about.

Might have to try it out. Sure it's pretty good and serves a purpose. I have 105 on my best bike so not after anything fancy with this build.

The Tiagra was a smoother shift and it was 10 speed as apposed to 9 speed Sora. With a Tiagra it will be easier to upgrade again if parts wear or brake.

i would advise popping in a shop and seeing what you think!

Started looking on sites for Tiagra parts and i have seen a pair of shifters for £157 and an individual (right) shifter for £49.99 both on the same site!
