2019 Goats League - *CLOSED* Climb 5 - Sa Calobra

Ride opens for attempts on midnight 28th Jan 2019, and closes on Midnight on the 24th March 2019, ride must be completed within that window for it to count otherwise you get the time of the slowest rider plus 5%.

A visit to Mallorca is not complete without at least one 9.9km descent and 657m ascent of Sa Calobra, it has to be my favorite ride on the island. The toughest part again coming in the final Km, but don't stop at the cafe under the 450 degree switchback as the strava segment finished at the top of the col del Reis

Sa Calobra as a 30 minutes workout ... I use to play this on TV and ride Sa Calobra RLV on turbo ... starting both on the same time on the same part of the road.

I had to do that ride today now, damn you! (where's the shakes fist emoji when you need it) but I suppose this one is near enough

Anyway 00:31:54 and I used the first 30 minutes to determine my 20 minute FTP (if that makes any sense) so now for a well earned

I couldn’t face stage 4 tonight so I thought I’d skip one for now. Man what a nice looking piece of tarmac.

Yeah, it's a stupendous piece of road. Most of the Mallorcan roads are that smooth, and before the English holiday makers get over there the drivers are really considerate.

With me on the grid there is a lot more incentive for everyone else to complete each climb. My time plus 5% is a real killer.
