I cant really understand his TT superiority and his crap climbing abilities (relatively).

Im guessing, he's perfected such a low CDA TT position it overcomes his lack of Watts.

Soon as he's less aero he becomes less competitive against the best climbers
I genuinely think this is somewhat the case. I think both his raw watts as well as his W/kg must be (considerably) lacking compared to Pogacar, Vingegaard and maybe even del Toro. While obviously still being a phenomenal rider and incredible talent. He has found a way through aero to be elite despite putting out lower power, but the moment the aero benefit falls away, the drop off is significant.
There have been a lot of occasions over the years of him cracking on really tough climbs, while still destroying TT monsters like Ganna, Küng or Tarling or gaining massive time on GC rivals in the ITT only to give it up on the climbs.

I was a bit worried that Onley was being over-hyped and would struggle under the weight of expectation but looked solid yesterday.
A few others will be looking to improve on their outing. Lipowitz, Vauquelin etc but it's early days.
Daniel Martinez had a decent ride for a change!

Isn't it the case that he's been very inconsistent? A bad day on some climb and he's completely blown in a way that looks like it's his head that's gone as much as anything, and that while he's not matching Pog or Vingegaard on long climbs he's there with the best of the rest?

In the '24 Tour he was basically top three of the GC on all the big climbs, though still dropping some big chunks of time to Pog and a bit to Vingegaard as well (think he took a few seconds from Jonas on one day). Think he was only really getting beaten at the finish by guys from the break otherwise

'25 there was clearly something up with him in the Tour, and he DNFed

'His Vuelta win in '22 featured MTF wins, then once he'd grabbed a few minutes he dropped a little on later climbs but still had plenty of buffer, before winning a late HC MTF after Roglic had abandoned

Here's the final Vuelta top ten
Remco took roughly 2.5 minutes from Ayuso and Almeida in the ITT and TTT and around 3 from Mas, who is the only rider to have found time on Remco outside the TTs

Found in the Yorkshire hills ...
I should get down to Manchester sometime. Is there ever anything remotely resembling the Belgie events? Obv. not 6day, but a bit of bad pop and 🍺 would he nice

Nothing listed beyond the current championships, but I'll keep an eye out.

So far I'm seeing quite a few riders I know from racing track league at both Derby and Manchester. I should be checking marks whilst waiting for someone to collect a bike I've sold, but this is more interesting.

Axel Zingle getting in absolutely everyone's way there in Ruta del Sol - first manages to block Laporte, who he's leading out, then Pidcock (who gesticulates wildly to make clear his displeasure). Some choice words there probably

Milan Fretin took the win
