So, they ride on in Portugal today. The race leader has swapped his yellow jersey for a black one.
Yesterday’s tragedy has been book ended by two terrific stages. The first had incredible cobbled sections. Today’s at the top of the first category climb, there are long, dusty dirt roads. This addition of the Volta a Portugal has served to show the extreme highs and lows of the sport.

It might be triathlon, but Daisy Davies who has been a club member of ours up to this year is live in the T100 Vancouver event on TNT/HBO. It's her T100 debut.
She had the fastest ever Ironman debut in South Africa earlier this year.

Was looking at results and (as I frequently do) questionning my sanity.

The Czech tour stage 3 had the same 3 riders finishing in the same order as stage 2.....and we're in the middle of August. The GC does, of course mirror this. Got to be someone in the matrix phoning this in.

It’s a fairytale ending too, as Rui Olivera finally gets his first pro race win at the age of 29.
Wild celebrations with family and friends to end this most wonderful and terrible edition of the Volta a Portugal.

Carl-Frederik Bévort of UNO-X MOBILITY won the Frederiksberg Criterium
Amalie Dideriksen of Cofidis Women Team won the women's edition

I think these are actually raced btw. Didn't make it out to see it as I only realised it was on at lunchtime

She may be my niece’s bestie, but as soon as I switched on, Dani was spouting mucho hyperbole about the crowds, which are decent, but tiny compared to to the little Volta Portugal.

I was going to post about the almost certain echelon action, due to a raging cross/tailwind.
Turns out it’s borderline at 20kph. (Both rider commentators think it’s a cert.)
