I had a fair bit of interest from our Wednesday night pub crew (and beyond) in the simple pleasures of leaving at midnight from Hyde Park Corner and riding to Southsea seafront.

Having ridden to London from Portsmouth before, I pretty much know where we would go with a benighted Richmond Park and the quiet main roads through the downs being two of the features on the way southwards to Pompey.

We have a date, clear of the rightly popular FNRttC expeditions - Friday 21st September - leaving at midnight from Hyde Park Corner/Constitution Hill.

With a thumbs-up from a cafe on Southsea seafront (who will cater for us from 8am), I have a growing number of interested parties and wondered if anyone on Cycle Chat is interested in this?

Thanks for the responses.

Wanda, the route is pretty flat down to the Guildford area (apart from Richmond Park) but then enters the downlands so there are lumps from until about 14 miles from the flat/downhill run to the finish.

Whats the plan when you get there?
Any motels/hotels that will store bikes?
