Can anyone tell me the diameter of a 22t chainring?

Facetious answer: 22/pi teeth

Actually you may be able to get a decent estimate from that.

Teeth are on a 0.5 inch pitch, ie 0.5 inch between tooth tops. 22 teeth will have 22 gaps, giving a circumference of 22 x 0.5 = 11 inches. 25.4mm in one inch, so 11 x 25.4m circumference. Diameter = 11 x 25.4/pi = 88.9mm

Thinking about it, more elegant (but less accurate) is to use pi=22/7. Then the diameter is 22x.5x7/22 inches = 3.5 inches.
