What is the benefit of 23c tyres? As a larger rider am I better with 23c or 25c?

I'm about to order some conti GP4000s tyres but not sure which to get.

There is very little difference. Not that you would notice anyway.
Maybe a slightly comfier ride with 25's.

25s are better for a larger rider as you can run them at a lower psi without fear of pinch puntures

I ran 25c on my Venge for a while and they were tight, I could not put the wheel on with the tyre inflated, But once on the bike they were no real problem

The only issue I've ever had running 25c tyres was cornering at speed with some heavy wire beaded gatorskins, the extra weight of the tyres seemed to make cornering hard work, requiring more effort and weight shifting to make the bike turn into the corners in a way I was comfortable with, this problem went away with lighter tyres at 24c, not sure if the size of the tyre was the issue but may be a combination of factors.

There may still be some 24c continental grand prix tyres available, I found these to be almost perfect in terms of handling, comfort and weight.

I always find it quite hard to find 25's in my area, so I run 23's or 28's Usually 23's for bike and I alone, 28's for a load, 37's for a big touring load.. Have a separate bike for the 37's, an old Giant Nutra with trekking bars.
