I'd buy a big house with room for all my hobbies, I quite fancy a yacht, I'd buy several thousand acres and build a town to my specification (think Prince of Wales meets Amsterdam with the main transportion method being bikes). I'd then sell most of the houses at a price I felt reasonable to the right sort of people who met my qualification criteria.

I may help family and local charity but it would be on a fund matching basis, I would not give money away, I would want to see real results

And I'd set up a trust fund to pay for the best education money can buy for the next generations of my family

While I adjusted to the new found wealth I would do not very much. Then I would ask someone like Rigid Raider to explain more fully his plans, and ask him choose a Team to help him implement it.

I would then go travelling, South America and New Zealand perhaps, returning via Lagos to see how the project was progressing.

Then I would choose a house in Scotland somewhere, or a quiet corner of the Lake District. It would have a large self-contained annexe for Cycle Chatters to meet up in. Applications would be invited from people to Manage the Annexe and organise rides, and service and maintain bikes, and find the nearest and best eating and drinking establishments. You might like to submit a brief summary of your CV.

Build a nice modest house on the west coast of Scotland with big windows looking over a sea loch. Build a granny annexe and install the MIL.

Give a bit to a few charities and relatives.

Set up a cycle club in Nigeria with club bikes, mechanic and trainer and maybe build them an outdoor velodrome.

Spend the rest building then endowing a clinic giving free treatment using genuine drugs to sick people in Lagos then install expat management to ensure it was run correctly and not robbed blind.

There is already a very nice, new velodrome in Nigeria. Schurmann built, IIRC

I have a dim recollection though they then couldn't afford any bikes to ride on it. Presumably it was built for the African games or some such.

I tell you what could be a good idea regarding this African cycling malarky.

Some form of competition, or even just a plain charity, where all the cycle clubs in the UK are asked to donate a bike. A club as a whole should be able to find it pretty easy to knock a bike together.

The guy that was interviewed in Macclesfield? Yes, he seems a nice worthy recipient. He's still young enough to travel the world in luxury for part of the year. This is what I'd do. But first things first I'd book myself and my family all in for the very best medical checkup available to mankind.

Then secure the future of my offspring for as many generations as possible. At the end of the list I'd probably look to do something worthwhile with about 3 million to helping others. Probably developing African wells and irrigation.

If I won millions I would keep very quiet. No one would know. I would carry on as normal and slowly help to improve a few lives and assist a few charities. I would be a very secret millionaire.
Some people look at how little I earn when I work and think I already have won.
