Only walked up pen-y-ghent, so can't say anything about the other two...but NO WAY would I do it on a bike - I would kill myself on those steep rock steps near the top!

I think you would be off-route as well as dead, Punky. IIRC the cyclocross route is up-and-back via Hull Pot Lane so you reach the top from the shallower north end and the descent down the west flank is just about rideable all the way.
