No sentence was ever going to be long enough but I am glad he got time in prison. I assume his brother will be sentenced later.

What the police have done to his girlfriend is appauling. She did exactly the right thing. The only thing anyone with a conscience would have done. She is now in fear of her life. How they think this will encourage the public to help the police in the future is a mystery. I think there are a few officers who need sacking. Without this woman he would never have been found.

The brother was sentenced at the same time, he got five years and three months.

I saw that in later article.

Am I the only one that finde it bizarre. That after he buried him, he started a relationship with a pathologists, of all things. Why did he take her to the deposition site? Was it to brag or was it a test of love?

It certainly wasn’t a bright move to continue the relationship when he found out what she did.

I believe the good Dr noticed that McKellar visibly tensed when a police car passed them and this got her inquiring mind going. She asked him if there was anything in his past that could affect their relationship and he coughed to the killing. She strikes me as a very intelligent and brave woman to go through with what she did.

Are we sure it's 6 part? TV guide said 2?

You’re absolutely right.

I don’t know why I wrote 6-part!

Watching the program given the loss of daylight and the traffic on the A82 if only he taken the advice of the staff at the hotel in the Bridge of Orchy
That sort of A road is bad enough in daylight without risking in the dark.

Don't want to be victim blaming but having driven it that is not a road I'd choose to cycle in the daylight (although I've seen a few doing it) far less at night. Traffic is too big, too fast, and too close for comfort.

I drive that road frequently. In fact I just came down from Fort William this afternoon. I have to say that drivers give cyclists plenty of room nowadays, and are surprisingly patient.

If we're doing "if onlys" then the biggest one is: if only the driver hadn't driven while drunk.

Seems a shame to lay any blame at Mr Parson's door when someone else broke the law, drove dangerously, killed him and then covered it up

I believe both views can be true.

I won't post in the TV thread as here is more appropriate.

What a fascinating programme, goes over the whole story start to finish with a result at the end you either agree with or don't. As is said during the trial "I suspect no sentence will be viewed as enough in the eyes of the family".

Watching the interviews with the suspects (as they were then) was a grim window into the minds of two deeply disturbed individuals who have no regrets as to their actions and no remorse for the person they killed or his family. Then for the trial I had forgotten Scottish courts allows television recordings, so to view the trial as it happened was also eye opening.

I'd say that anyone that wants to post an opinion of this case, should really watch this before they do so if they haven't already.

Absolutely. and if only they had called an ambulance there and then, rather than think about how to cover their tracks. I watch episode 1 last night and will watch 2 tonight. Like @wiggydiggy I remembered reading about it at the time
