I have inadvertently around a 32 death chain ring and at the moment I have a 30 tooth.
1) if I changed it would the chain be suitable or would it need to be longer.
i am looking at changing the chain ring to an ovel chain ring what are the pros and cons
I have a hard tail and a road but that's a +2
any advice would be appreciated
TIA

That depends.

What bike?
What rear derailleur? Does it have the capacity to cope with the bigger cassette?
1 chainring or two? If two, what size are they? 50/34?
A photo of the bike side on , with the biggest chainring and biggest cog would help us advise.

Oval chainrings have come and gone over the years. If there are any benefits, which I doubt, they are almost certainly miniscule.

I have found a 32 tooth chain ring and at the moment I have a 30 tooth.
1) If I replaced the current 30t with it, would the chain need to be longer?
2) What are the pros and cons of oval chain rings
I've taken the liberty of 'rephrasing' your OP.
1) No. You don't say whether this is an inner of a triple or a sub-compact, but it doesn't matter.
2) Suggest doing your own research will be gazillions better that asking CycleChatters.
Type:
"What are the pros and cons of oval chain rings"
into the engine and take it from there.
Come back with a list of pros and cons to demonstrate that you are actually interested in this. That will give 'us' something to chew on.
