In the hospital waiting room yesterday (just for an XRay) and sat opposite me were (was?) a couple aged maybe in their late thirties. They were both dressed in full 40s style clothing and had the hair styles to match. Her clothing in particular looked expensive and her hair was immaculate.
They really did look an attractive couple.
I googled it and you can pay a lot of money for some items.
Not for me..............but they looked good.

I have a double breasted, wide lapels, turned ups on the trousers suit from 1991,when they had a bit of a 1940's/50's revival. I haven't worn it since then and don't intent to wear it again.

I wouldn't wear it everyday, but don't mind dressing up and prancing round at a weekend event.

Original clothing does fetch premium prices, especially the larger sizes that fit today's average sized people, most original stuff is upto 38" chest for men, and upto a size 8 in women's clothing.

I watched a size 44" chest suit go for £300 on eBay a month ago.

One thing I do know about modern clothing is that it is light in weight compared to old cotton and wool clothing. Even so, a suitcase full of clothes gets pretty heavy so I wonder how people must have managed back before synthetic textiles, when suitcases were carried and not wheeled? No wonder there were porters with barrows.

Yeah, they got their plebs to carry their stuff about. I just get my manservant to cycle for me now, racking up my Strava achievements while I flog my scullion joyously.

Designed by no less than Hugo Boss.
Nonsense. Whilst Boss mass produced them the classic black SS uniform was designed by Diebitsch and Heck.

In answer to the OP, yes, many years ago in the 90's whilst fronting a swing band USAAF uniform and zoot suits were de rigeur.
