I have only even seen £50 notes in photos!
As for cash and 'what is the world coming to'...
I used to collect loose change in a huge jar. I'd wait until I had about £30 worth then count it out into coin bags and cash it in. These days, I do so few transactions in cash that I will probably never fill the jar again! I was wondering what to do with the coins that I had already collected and then I had an idea - I put about £1.50 in 1ps, 2ps and 5ps into each of multiple coin bags and always carry one bag with me when I go shopping. If there is a good busker playing on my route I donate the bag of coins to them.
They’ve been dishing out £50s at Tesco here for quite a while now when me or my sister go and get my dad’s cash for him.
It's a sign, not good.
Wait, they'll be just stamping more zeroes on them.
My thought was they are just issuing them to use up stocks of Liz II notes.
I had a £5 from a cash machine in Ludlow on Wednesday. It's the first cash machine I've seen dispensing fivers for a very long time
Higher value note, fewer people making large withdrawals. Increases the likelihood of the machine not being used. And not many places willing to take the note.larger notes-> fewer visits by cash-in-transit operator to replenish-> lower operating cost
