And with them arrival of the saddle, bar tape and seatpost, she’s done.

Cabled and indexed the gears myself, and wrapped the tape.

All in all, I’m pretty happy with the outcome. I think I learned a lot from it.

I’ll ride this bike in the crap weather and then when it’s too cold to ride, I’ll strip it and re-spray it... probably in the martini racing colours.

I also need a new stem as this looks pure garbage.

Afternoon all. It’s been a while.

Just thought I’d share a little update on the bike which this forum helped me put together. This bike has now done a few thousand KM’s, both indoors and outdoors, and is an absolute dream to ride.

Upgraded the seatpost to carbon for a bit more flex, and changed the stem. It’s also got a new pair of wheels along with some Ultegra 6800 brakes, so now not only at the wheels true, it also stops too. It’s also got a newish Ultegra 6700 crankset.

I’m a big lad, so I don’t do hills, so really don’t see the benefit of a carbon frame any more, so currently considering selling the Cervelo and indulging in a Field frameset.

In the meantime, I’m on the lookout for a 6700 rear derailleur, in black, in good condition if anyone has one. Not sure why all RD’s look like they’ve been through a rock tumbler.

It may well just be entirely in my head, but the bike is pretty rigid, but the carbon seatpost makes for a much more forgiving ride.

That’s a grand job ~ the biggest improvement for me is the stem. Such a simple component but makes such a difference.
