The former being on my Surly DT and the latter on my Spa Cycles Elan built by Spa with a dyno hub.

Neither will break the bank.

You're definitely right. I like the idea of not choosing every single component though. I'm weighing up overdue repairs on my tourer versus a new bike.

You don't have to, just tell spa what you want and what your budget is and let them sort it

I got some handbuilt from rose and been happy with them.

About 2500 miles and still running nicely. They arent light or nice looking or anything though. Thing theyre rose own brand rims (airline?) on deore hubs, only cost about £100 a pair so very cheap.

yes I know a fair few folk who buy Rose wheels and just get them checked or stress-relieved after a few months.

I don't think they do Sputniks though.

(as you can maybe guess I like them - more rim metal )
