Just as as update folks...if anyone has wondered......I bought a Ti bike, test rode a few carbon numbers then tried Ti.
Felt well....just right, and the same weight as the Cayo.

Van Nic ventus....couldnt not do....it felt just "so".
I love my crosscheck, it feels like that but better, in all ways......I've just got to get used to a non brooks saddle.....and no I'm not buying the Ti brooks.......yet(maybe).

Got rid of the VN bar tape too. Too much logo going on, as you can guess I like a de-logo'd bike.
Got rid of the stickers with Acetone, you wont damage the bike. Van Nich make lovely bikes but their graphics leave a lot to be desired, so they were the first thing that came off.

Re the bottle cages.
I did have 2 of the ones that you can see on the left of the frame, one broke so VN sent me a replacement, (the one on the right), subsequently the other original one broke too so that was replaced. BUT... even though they hold the bottles securely, they do rattle and vibrate a lot. So I am changing for carbon bottle cages.

Indeed. But ainrauk rides mostly in the UK. And he has been known to prefer only one particular colour!
