A Brighton first

After 10 relatively incident free years of commuting in and around Brighton I recieved my first ever 'get orrff the road' this morning. For those who know Brighton, it was the stretch between Coldean Lane and Stanmer park. There is a shared cycle/pedestrain path but I stick to the road to avoid the poor surface and numerous pedestrians for a couple of hundred meters.

Didn't catch up with the driver in his ancient BMW but did catch a glimpse of his partner, who failed to respond to my cheery wave.

Should have made me cross, but for some reason it made me smile and gave me an overwhelming sense of superiority!

I go that route everyday too, and like you - use the road instead of the path at that point. Bit of a nightmare when there is a match on, you'd get nowhere with all the supporters on their way to the stadium if you stayed on the cyclepath.
