A common off road injury is caused when you slide back off the saddle to get your weight back and low down over the rear wheel for fast steep downhill sections, the wheel makes contact with your love spuds and sucks them between the the rear tyre and the seat stay wishbone/bridge.

Slatted benches in saunas have caused similar injuries as well.

That saddle design has been around for about 20-30 years. Its based on an even older design which, iirc goes even further back and is just a padded bar where your buttocks rest.

At least you have the QR lever for a faster escape, in a sauna you have to wait for someone to come along with a claw hammer.

Most men don't notice one is trapped until they try to stand up...then they have to wait for the paramedics to come along with a zip-lock bag and some ice.

"According to the test report(Report No. TH70198/2010), issued by SGS Taiwan Ltd. dated 30 July 2010, the elastic steel bars can only break to two parts after the seat has sustained 89772 strokes under a weight of 100 kgs, pressed once per second without stop."

Very reassuring. State of Huddersfield roads that'll get me halfway to work!
