Engineering!
Hopefully specialising in bio mechanical engineering.

Excellent! Well done to your daughter! Engineering is a very good subject to study though it is incredibly tough! My daughter is doing Integrated Mech and Elec at Bath Uni. It's been a very tough year for her despite getting excellent grades at A level too. Bio Mech or Medical Eng is a very good field to get into. She'll be making all the equipment to keep us oldy lot going years into the future.

State school education at its finest. The hours and hours of effort she put in paid off. And she worked so much harder than I ever did.

She’s off to Leeds for uni. Which is a long way from south London. She will have to learn to speak Yorkshire and get used to the cold.

Great results, well done 👍🏼

Proud grandad here.
Grandson got what he needed for a place at Exeter, but he's taking a gap year first.

Grandson really seems to have matured during his gap year.
At first, he didn't seem to be motivated to do anything, then he landed a job at a "Christmas Shop" and really enjoyed it. Saved enough to fund an extended trip to Thailand. This really gave him independence and really enjoyed the experience. Back in the UK now and has got another part time job and learning to drive.

The gap year really seems to have suited him, preparing him for his next adventure at Exeter Uni.

I wish I had taken a gap year - I matured a lot in that year and might have been able to use that to work better at University

I was just to immature to see what I needed to do at that age

My stepson has been accepted into Bristol school of acting. We are so pleased. He's been up there a couple of times for auditions, open days etc and loves it. Roll on September! He's had an unintentional 2-year-gap-year because of very poor mental health, a catering job which didn't work out, and some other problems. The college tutors told us he was a "natural" but his lack of attendance was a real issue. But to ours and his surprise, he came out with a Merit and didn't have to repeat/re-sit anything

Grandson, 11, is two days into Sats, his first 'proper' exams.
Seems to be coping OK & was quietly confident of sitting them.
