That's almost as weird as a mate of mine; he keeps his phone switched off and only puts it on to make a call or send a text, then turns it off again.
Whats this strange 'phone' thing whereof you speak?

I cant even be arsed to go to the grief of owning one any more, never mind wasting energy pressing a button to switch one on. That smacks of effort.

My wife has a separate work phone and broadband line. On that she gets quite a few calls beginning "hello I am from Openreach" (or BT) which on one occasion they described as "the mother of all internets".

She delights in keeping them talking for as long as possible with random irrelevancies and questions such as "I'm so glad you called, it's about the green box at the end of the road isn't it?" And so on.

Recently the caller eventually snapped and shouted "you talk too much, lady" before hanging up.
