A front brake is by far the most efficient way to stop so there's nothing wrong with only have a front one on a fixed. Riding brakeless is not a good idea though as the best skills in the world won't let you stop as quickly as with a single front brake.

Come on, own up, who's bought an off the shelf fixie with coloured chain and matching rims. I saw 4 this morning, there seems to be more and more of them appearing now the sun's out. It's not big and it's not clever.

Hey I had Dunlop Green Flash, not cool (at least then they weren't), but they were very goodand worked. These bikes just seem nasty and intended to exploit a current fashion.

I suspect many of the messenger bikes they're trying to be have hubs worth more.
