I saw these tea-mugs in York yesterday

This one was in a shop on (I think) StoneGate
It's got to be spoken (of thought about) with a Yorkshire accent

A 50/50 blend of Earl Grey and ordinary tea is very refreshing. It tones down the bergamot flavour.

Earl Grey happened because Chinese tea merchants were in the habit of adulterating the leaves with sand, iron filings etc. to increase the weight. A consignment arrived adulterated with dried rind of bergamot fruit and the tea drinkers of London loved it.

This is what I do if I'm making a pot of tea rather than a single mug - in my case, a blend of earl grey and english breakfast for teabags, and a blend of earl grey, assam and ceylon for loose leaf.
