Why would Arch want a yellow dog?
*confused*

Would certainly be interesting having a pet elephant. Would be fun taking it out for a walk, not so sure I'd want it in the living room though or be woken up by it.

You'd need a JCB as a poop scoop, and one of those garden rubbish carriers to put it in.

Don't worry about it being in the living room, the trouble starts when it wants to sleep on the end of your bed.

Musth...

However you spell it, you're right, it's going to be expensive in crockery, windows, walls....

You know, before the last Ice Age, there were dwarf elephants, living on various Mediterranean islands.

I want!

I might have to make do with a pygmy elephant instead.

It ought to be possible to breed elephants down to pet size, just as dogs have been reduced to chihuahuas - the main problem is the long gestation period, so it would take centuries...

Whilst I *love* the idea of an elephant the size of a labrador, I can't help thinking it's something of a long term project.
I mean, we domesticated wolves around 15 000 years ago, so I'd guess it would take 50 000 years or more to breed tiny elephants.
Genetic engineering might be the way to go here.
