Workers at a bicycle factory in Germany were facing redundancy and the closure of the factory. Instead of accepting this state of affairs, they decided to show they could run the factory better than the managers, who they say were running the factory down. They have occupied the premises and are trying to secure orders for 1,800 'strike bikes', but must do so by 2 October. If they don't make that total (they are currently at around 1,000) they will refund every order.
The bikes come emblazoned with the slogan 'Strike Bike' and cost 275 euros - around £165.
