Can I ask:

If you had enquired about purchasing a bike from a certain retailer but then went elsewhere and bought the bike – would you be embarrassed to go back to the first retailer if you had to have the bike repaired under warranty bearing in mind that both retailers are dealers for your specific manufacturer and the first retailer from whom you didn’t buy the bike was closer to home?

For me, it would depend why you went elsewhere - price or availability? The LBS may not care if the manufacturer is paying the repair bill of course

Behind the scenes, many warranty jobs are a mixture of the bike maker and the goodwill of the retailer.

Your chances of the latter are reduced by not going to the supplying dealer.

No, they are a business there to make money and you would be giving them business that would make them money and keep them in business.
