Quite significant for the rabbit too I think. Sounds like you killed it, murderer!

Beware, they are rampant. I hope you went straight down to the Butchers afterwards to commemorate this event.

Did you give it a proper burial?

Went out at 3am a few weeks ago to cycle the Millennium coastal path from Bynea to Pembrey. First thing I had to get used to was the moths that were attracted to my head torch. That done I then had to contend with bats that were flying in close to get the moths. Then the rabbits! live rabbits caught in the beam of my light....lots and lots and lots of rabbits. Much fun!

I remember on one downhill in the pitch dark in the middle of the country, I was expecting to see rabbits scurrying out from the ditches. What I wasn't expecting was for a black cat to jump out. Somehow he/she landed right between the the space under my BB and out the other side. I heard a bit of a squeal! but I think they made it.

I'm always puzzled by the fact that rabbits always seem to run away from me as though they have been startled by a bloke on a bike. This is despite the fact that a 38 tonne artic had just passed by moments before.

But I guess dead rabbits don't move that fast.

One day I was out, I saw a dead bunny, sideways onto me laid in the road and thought lets plough through it at speed as I know one day I may hit a live one so I wanted to know how much of a jolt there would be so I could be prepared for such an eventuality, anyway at the last moment I turned away as I did not want to ruin my ride by maybe doing some damage to my bike as I had a long way to go and was also meeting others so I did not want covering in blood possibly.

Anyway this week, hurtling along, 22mph, I saw something appear from my left out the corner of my eye coming at me, followed by a terrific jolt and a scream, once my bike become stable again from its wobble and nothing seemed damaged, I looked behind to see a great rat dragging itself across the road looking a bit shook up.
