Brian Matthews stepped down from Sounds of The Sixties this morning. It made one realise how much dross there was around at that time, among all the good stuff which still stands the test of time. Cost me a fortune in itunes when long forgotten gems were played.
Apparently he had no choice and is NOT happy about it. TBF he is 88 so maybe some fresh(er) blood (Tony is not exactly young)). But to move it to 0600 seems crazy to me. It had a big following but I cannot see it getting those figures at that time.
As far as Dermot O'Leary.........I cannot stand him on the radio

I cannot abide Dermot O'Leary and turn him off the radio or the TV if he's on. I find him irritating in the extreme. I loved Sounds of the 60s and listened as much as I could .

I can't stand Dreary O'Dermot either, an irritating broadcaster to say the least.
