In 2017 in the US there were 14,542 gun related murders. That number increases each year. It is about 5 Twin Towers every year.

It appears that Americans kill Americans it is looked on quite the norm. Yet when a handful of terrorists do it to them. The world get turned on its head forever.

they see everyone else with a gun so the next person needs a gun to protect themselves

One of my sisters is a teacher in the States, currently working from home. My father was also a teacher, and retired without holes. Not many bullets go flying where I'm from (unless they're on the way to a deer), but a few hundred miles to the west, different story.
